I have an early New Year’s resolution: To post fun trivia that allows smart people to get free coffee.  And to do it every two weeks.

Today’s question:
What famous pro-fair-use function does this image represent?

As always, tell a nerd working behind the counter the correct answer and receive a free 450mL beverage.

This question is epically difficult. Or way to obvious. One of those. Hints?

    Can’t figure out this question?
    Surely you can.
See if you can find anything in plain sight.

    The cat would find it.

Acceptable answers would be DeCSS or cssdescramble. These refer to a movement that started a while back to make sure the code to provide fair-use backups of DVDs was available to all who wanted it. The icon provided with 42 on it was part of the effort named “42 ways to distribute DeCSS” (http://decss.zoy.org/). The acrostic in my clue would have given you CSS. Also, using the cat tool in linux, or just dragging the .ico file into any text editor that will display contents as ASCII would have shown you the code.

Excellent FCFSPT question, mostly because I wasn’t able to figure it out. :D
